BJP MP seeks Padma Shri to Adari Tulasi Rao

Vijayawada: Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao requests PM Narendra Modi to confer Padma Shri award posthumously on Adari Tulasi Rao, Chairman of Visakha Dairy.

In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, GVL, who is also BJP's national spokesman, requested him to posthumously confer Padma Shri award on the dairying legend, who hailed from undivided Visakhapatnam district. Adari Tulasi Rao, who served as Chairman of Visakha Dairy for a long time, breathed his last on January 4.

Bringing laudable efforts of late Rao to the notice of the PM, GVL stated that the departed entrepreneur was instrumental in making Visakha Dairy a successful farmers' organisation. As the Chairman of the Visakha Dairy for nearly three decades, he had served the cause of several milk producers' organisations in the rural areas notwithstanding huge pressure from the private sector which had largely taken over the dairying business from the cooperatives and producer companies in Andhra Pradesh.
